Symptoms
PNP_DETECTED_FATAL_ERROR Blue Screen Error reported when connecting to VMware Horizon Virtual Machine
Dell Latitude and Precision laptops may fail with a Blue Screen PNP_DETECTED_FATAL_ERROR. This occurs when they connect to VMware Horizon Virtual Machine and transfers USB devices from the client computer.
Affected products:
- Dell Latitude Laptops with an Infrared Camera
- Dell Precision Mobile Workstations with an Infrared Camera
Cause
This behavior is only seen on those computers with an Infrared Camera fitted.
Resolution
Dell Engineering has worked with VMware, and they advise that you disable redirection for the Infrared Camera.
