I. First add the NTP to all the ESXi hosts by following the below Steps
Connect to the ESX/ESXi host using the vSphere Client.
- Select a host in the inventory.
- Click the Configuration tab.
- Click Time Configuration.
- Click Properties.
- Click Options.
- Click NTP Settings.
- Click Add
II. Add the NTP to the VXM by following the below Steps
- Set the system time using the ntp server on the VxRail Manager using the root user.
' ntpdate u <ntp sever ip> '
Run this command multiple times, until the time offset is less than one second.
- Compare the time on the hardware clock and system time to see if they match.
' hwclock ' and ' date '
- Check that you are able to log into the VxRail Manager GUI.
- Set the hardware clock to the same time as the system clock using the command;
hwclock w ' or ' hwclock --systohc '
- Confirm that the hardware clock is correct by comparing to the hardware clock to the system time.
III. Add NTP to VCSA and PSC
- Access the Appliance management for both through port 5480http://<IP>:5480
- Navigate to time
- Add NTP server
IV. Set time zone for PSC and VCSA.
- Access the Appliance management for both through port 5480http://<IP>:5480
- Navigate to time
- Edit the time zone
