USB Audio Issues on Dell Docks After Updating Firmware

Symptoms

Audio noise or audio distortion maybe experienced on some on audio devices with USB interface such as USB wired or USB wireless headsets. This occurs when running on Dell Dock WD19 and Dell Thunderbolt Dock WD22TB4 firmware version 1.0.36 and Dell Dual Charge Dock HD22Q firmware revision 1.0.15.

Cause

The USB hub modification in dock firmware version 01.00.36 had a side effect on USB Audio Devices connected to the dock. The buffer is not updated in time, and 4 bytes of redundant data is sent and cause audio noise or distortion.

Resolution
