Symptoms

Unable to display the Unisphere for PowerMax Array Display Name of the array in a third-party tool

Cause

The third-party tool uses SMI-S to connect and retrieve information from the array.

Resolution

This Array Display Name is specific to Unisphere for PowerMax.

This value CANNOT be retrieved using SMI-S and/or RestAPI.

The Unisphere Array Display Name is set using the Unisphere for PowerMax System Properties. 
  • Array Display Name—Custom name that is assigned to storage system.
  • Array names must be unique from other array names and cannot exceed 32 characters. Only alphanumeric characters, underscores ( _ ), and (-) are allowed. 
  • Array names are case-insensitive.
