If your touch-enabled display does not respond, or is slow, or inconsistent, this video may be able to help resolve your issue. Most Dell touch screens use capacitive technology to track your movements.
The first step is to remove anything which may interfere with the signal, like screen protectors, or polarization filters. Remove dirt and grease by wiping the display surface with a clear, dry, microfiber cloth. Completely power off the system and restart.
To continue troubleshooting you may need to connect a mouse, if you cannot navigate inside Windows. Visit dell.com/support and enter your Service Tag or select your system model.
Click the "Choose a diagnostic test" tab, check the box next to "Touch screen", then click "Test Selected Devices". If the diagnostic fails, record the failure message and contact Dell support for assistance in addressing it.
The next step is to calibrate your display. Search "Calibrate", and open "Calibrate the screen for pen or touch input" to open "Tablet PC Settings".
Click the "Calibrate" button and follow the on-screen prompts to complete. Check to see if the issue has improved. If not, Dell recommends the following procedures.
Update your BIOS to the latest version. Refresh your operating system without deleting files. Reset the operating system, removing all files.
