This video shows you how to set up dual monitors on your Windows 7 PC. Connect the external monitor to your computer via DVI, VGA, DisplayPort, or HDMI.
The new Dell S2340T monitor can be connected using USB 2. Power on the computer and the external monitor. Press and hold the Windows key and tap the letter "P" on the keyboard. A dialogue box with various display options appears.
Now you can select your desired configuration using the mouse. The first option, Computer Only, disables all external monitors And reverts to the default display.
The Duplicate option will clone the displays to both screens. The Extend option spills over the display area to the external monitor. You can now distribute the windows you are using between the display units.
The Projector Only option disables the default screen And projects the display only to the external monitor or projector. The screen resolution of the external display can be changed In the Extend or Projector Only mode.
Right-click anywhere on the desktop and select Screen resolution. Click Identify. The system will now display a number identifying the display unit. Once identified, select the external monitor from the box And change the resolution to your convenience.
If you wish to use the external display as your primary, select it from the box And check Make this my main display. Click Apply, confirm the settings, and click Ok to save.
