To enter Service Mode, hold down the B key on the keyboard and press the power button for 3 seconds or until the Dell Logo appears on the screen.
After the ready-to-proceed message appears on the screen, press any key to proceed. The computer emits three short beeps and shuts down immediately. To begin, loosen the two captive screws that secure the base cover to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly Then, remove the seven screws that secure the base cover to the assembly. Using a plastic scribe, pry the base cover from the top left at the hinge, and then continue to work on the sides to open the base cover. Lift the base cover off the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
Note that the steps that follow are applicable to the wireless card for both two fan and three fan configurations. To remove the wireless card, Remove the screw that secures the wireless-card bracket to the system board. Lift the wireless card bracket off the wireless card. Disconnect the antenna cables from the wireless card. Slide and lift the wireless card from the M.2 card slot on the system board.
You have successfully removed the wireless card. Now, let's install the wireless card. connect the antenna cables to the wireless card. Align the notches on the wireless card with the tabs on the M.2 card slot on the system board. Slide the wireless card into the M.2 card slot on the system board. Place the wireless card bracket back on to the wireless card. Replace the screw that secures the wireless-card bracket to the system board.
Re-install the base cover by aligning and placing the base cover on the palm-rest and keyboard assembly press the edges and sides of the base cover until it snaps into place. Tighten the two captive screws that secure the base cover to palm rest and keyboard assembly. Then, replace the seven screws that secure the base cover to the assembly.
