On the Before you Begin page, click Next. On the Specify Name and Location page, enter a name for the virtual machine.
By default, the virtual machine is saved in the primary drive. It is recommended that you create and save the virtual machine at a different location. To change the location, select the appropriate check box, and browse to the desired location. Click Next. Then, on the Specify Generation page, select Generation 2 and click Next. On the Assign Memory page, set the virtual machine's memory to 4096 MB or greater. Clear the Use the Dynamic Memory for the virtual machine checkbox and click Next. On the Configure Networking page, retain the default selection, that is, Not connected and click Next.
On the Connect Virtual Hard Disk page, select Create a virtual hard disk and verify the name and location, and set the Size to 100 GB or greater, and then click Next. On the Installation Options page, select Install an operating system from a bootable image file, browse to the image file, and then click Next. On the Summary page, review the selections and click Finish.
After creating the virtual machine, you must additionally configure a few settings. You can select the name of your virtual machine and click Settings. In the Hardware section, click Security and clear the Enable Secure Boot checkbox and select Enable Trusted Platform Module. You must enable the trusted platform module if you are using the Windows 11 operating system. Next, click Processor and increase the number of virtual processors to a minimum of 4.
Finally, click Apply and click OK. This completes the process of creating a virtual machine in Hyper V Manager. You can now install Windows 11 on the virtual machine.
