In this video, we show how to replace the power interposer board or PIB on a PowerEdge R260. Before removing the PIB, read through and follow safety guidelines to protect your system from potential damage and ensure your personal safety. In order to remove the PIB you must first remove the power supply, system cover, and air shroud. To remove the system cover, using a screwdriver rotate the lock counterclockwise to the unlocked position. Press down on the two release tabs and slide the cover towards the rear to disengage it.
Then lift the cover from the system. To remove the air shroud, hold it at both ends and lift it out of the system. To remove PIB, disconnect the power and data cables. Remove the screw securing it into place. Then slide the PIB towards the back and lift it out of the system. To install the PIB, align and place it into the guide hooks and tighten the screw to secure it in place. Then reconnect the power and data cables.
To install the air shroud, align it with the standoffs on the chassis wall and lower until firmly seated. To install the system cover, align and place it on the system. Slide it to the front until it clicks into place. Then use a screwdriver to rotate the lock clockwise to the locked position. To install the power supply, open the blue latch, then slide the power supply into the bay until firmly seated and the latch snaps into place.
