To begin, turn the computer over and loosen the two captive screws that secure the base cover to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly. Now remove the five screws that also secure the base cover to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly. Using the flat end of a plastic scribe, pry open the base cover, starting from the U-shaped recesses near the hinges at the top edge of the base cover and work your way around. Lift and remove the base cover off the palm-rest and keyboard assembly. Peel the tape that secures the battery cable to the battery.
Carefully disconnect the battery cable from the system board. Turn the computer over. Then, press and hold the power button for 20 seconds to ground the computer and drain the flea power. Let’s remove the fan. Disconnect the fan cable from the system board. Now remove the two screws that secure the fan to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly. Then, gently lift the fan off the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
You have now successfully removed the fan. Now, let’s see how to install the fan. To begin, place the fan on the palm-rest and keyboard assembly. Align the screw holes on the fan with the screw holes on the palm-rest and keyboard assembly. Now replace the two screws to secure the fan to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly. Then, connect the fan cable to the system board. Next, connect the battery cable to the system board.
Then, adhere the tape that secures the battery cable to the battery. Align and place the base cover on the palm-rest and keyboard assembly. Gently press the edges and sides of the base cover until it clicks into place. Now, tighten the two captive screws to secure the base cover. Then, replace the five screws that also secure the base cover to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly. You have successfully installed the fan.
