Open up the vmware vsphere client. In preparing the ESX server, we will have 2 10 gig nicks. We need to assign IP addresses to them. Currently, they are un cabled so that we can identify which Nick port is connected to which fault domain. Now we'll plug in one of the Nicks and click on networking and then refresh to update the status of the Nicks. Then navigate back to network adapters here.
We can see that Nick number four has come online. So we know that Nick is for fault domain one. We then plug in the other Nick and check that it has come online. Click on networking and then add networking, choose VM kernel and click next, unselected any default Nick and select the Nick identified for fault domain one, update the network label and click next, provide the IP address that is on fault domain one.
We will now add the second VM kernel for the other network adapter following the same steps completed previously for fault domain one, click storage adapters, then click add and select software I guzzy adapter and click OK?
