Important note due to ESX not passing the Sa shbawwn, you must power off all hosts except the one you are configuring. If you are also attaching windows hosts, you can configure them first to avoid having to power them off before attaching the ESX host. Open enterprise manager client, click on log into storage center or data collector.
Note that the configure vmware vsphere menu option is not supported with SASS arrays. This manual method is required provide log in credentials and click on log in, click on the storage tab and right. Click on servers, select create server. If the number of HB A listed exceed the number of physical SASS HB is in the host, you will not be able to determine ownership until you have powered off the other servers. As shown in this example, once the other hosts have been powered off, you should only see the number of HBAS listed.
Provide the server name set, the OS type for ESX and click on each HB A to select them and then click OK to create a volume, right, click on the newly added server and select create volume or create multiple volumes. Provide the information requested and click on next enter capacity and click next set, replay profiles and click next click, next review summary and click finish.
Wait about 15 to 20 seconds and click on mappings and verify connectivity for any failed paths. If paths are down double, click any path and it will refresh. If all paths aren't resolved within 30 seconds, check the physical connections log in to fees for your client. Click on the configuration tab and choose storage adapter.
Select each SA shb A and verify that the volume is seen if not perform a rescan. The rescan can take 5 to 10 minutes. Verify the volume is seen on all HBAS if more than one exists with the correct number of paths. Once the volume is discovered, click on storage, select add storage, click on next, select the compelling volume and click next, select the file system version and click next, confirm information and click next.
Provide a data store name and click next, provide formatting configuration and click next review configuration and click finish. The data store will appear in a few seconds. The installation is complete.
