In this video, we show how to install a TPM on a PowerEdge C6620.
Before installing the TPM, read through and follow the safety guidelines to protect your system from potential damage and ensure your personal safety.
For more information about safety guidelines, see the C6620 Service Manual at Dell.com/Support. In order to install the TPM, You must first remove the air shroud, card riser, extended heatsink and extended Heatsink bracket.
To remove the air shroud, press the blue clip and lift it. Then disconnect the air shroud hook from the slot on the chassis and remove it.
To remove expansion card riser one, remove the three screws to secure the riser to the chassis. Then lift the riser from the connector on the system board to remove the extended heatsink.
Loosen the first captive screw nut three turns, then the opposite one. Loosen the remaining nuts and return to the first and finish loosening it.
Next, set the anti tilt wires to the in lock position. Then with the processor and heatsink module away from the system. To remove the extended heatsink bracket, remove the three screws, securing it to the chassis.
Then lift the bracket out of the chassis. To install the TPM, align the edge connectors with the TPM slot on the system board and then insert it.
Then press a plastic rivet until the rivit snaps into place on the system board. To install the extended Heatsink bracket align it with the chassis and lower into place.
Then tighten the three screws to secure it in place. To install the extended heatsink and CPU, align the pin one indicator to the socket on the system board and lower into place.
Next, set the anti tilt wires to the lock position, then tighten the first nut three times, then the opposite one. Tighten the remaining nuts and return to the first nut to tighten completely.
To install expansion card riser one, align the riser with the slot on the chassis and lower until firmly seated. Then tighten the three screws the secure the riser to the chassis.
To install the air shroud, insert the hook on the slot on the chassis. Then lower the air shroud until the blue clip locks into place.
