In this video, we show how to adjust the bios and password settings on a PowerEdge C6620.
Before making changes to the bios and password settings, read through and follow the safety guidelines to protect your system from potential damage and ensure your personal safety.
For more information about safety guidelines, see the C6620 service manual at Dell dot com for support. In order to adjust the settings, you must first remove the expansion card riser, LOM and riser blank.
To remove expansion card riser one, remove the three screws that secure the riser to the chassis. Then lift the riser from the connector on the system board.
To remove the riser 2 blank, remove the four screws securing it to the chassis. Then lift it out of the chassis. To remove the LOM, remove the screws that secure it to the system board. Then lift to disconnect it from the system board.
To clear the NVRAM at boot. Move the jumper from pins 3 and 5 to 1 and 3 and reboot. Move the jumper back to retain the bios configuration settings at boot.
To clear the bios password, move the jumper from pins 2 and 4 to 4 and 6 and reboot. And move the jumper back to re-enable the BIOS password feature.
To install the LOM, align it with the stand off on the system board and lower until firmly seated. Then tighten the screws that secure it to the system board.
To install the riser 2 blank, align the blank with a slot on the chassis and lower into place. Then tighten the screws that secure the blank to the chassis.
To install expansion card riser one, align the riser with a slot on the chassis and lower until firmly seated. Then tighten the three screws that secure the riser to the chassis.
