Hey all. I am just wondering if there will be a new m17 coming out to follow the new m15 R6? I just bought an m17 R4 and need to exchange it as it is the 2nd one I have received in the past month from Best Buy that had cosmetic issues right out of the box. However, it's no longer available there an

I have not even registered it yet. I haven't even turned it on yet. I noticed a couple small blemishes and the wire to the screen being visible in the hinge and I didn't go any further than that.

Hi! I have a 5 years old alienware area 51, I've already changed some components but this time it seems that the power supply has some problems since it started to make loud noises when the gpu is working hard (when I play games mainly, not for regular work). So at the beginning I thought it was the

I've been looking for a Dell 1500 Watt PSU for my R5 for a year now and still haven't come across one. Dell PSU's for the Area-51 are extremely rare. I hope you have better luck than me and are able to find one.

Hello,I tried upgrading my R5 that originally had 2x8GB memory sticks to 4x16GB sticks (hx426c16fb4k4/64).HyperX DDR4-2666 CL16 288-Pin DIMM KitTo my knowledge and from I read on Dell forum and Kingston memory selector, those 4 sticks should work. But when I put them in the computer, I get 2 be

Hey all. So I want to replace the stock 2tb HD that came with my system with an SSD and it seems like in the past some people have had issues adding one. So my 1st question is will it be possible to just replace the HDD with a SATA SSD? without any crazy problems? If so, will a Samsung or SanDisk S

OK. One more one more question. Am I better off getting 4x16GB or 2x32GB for RAM setup? I assume 4x16 but again this is Alienware so... you know.

Hey one more question. Would it be better to go with the Crucial SSD over a Samsung or SanDisk since Crucial is specifically stating it is compatible with the Area-51 R5? Normally none of this is an issue but this is what we deal with when owning Ali

No worries. I noticed the search was for an Aurora and changed it when I went there. I like that Ballistix 3200 RAM. I might get 2 sets of that and try to get 64GB of 3200 RAM running in this thing. Figure if I throw another SSD in here, upgrade the

Thank you for all your answers. I guess I don't need the adapter if I put the SSD in the SSD bay and keep the HDD installed for regular storage right?

Re: will it be possible to just replace the HDD with a SATA SSD? without any crazy problems? All you need is 3.5 to 2.5 adapter, the rest of swap is straightforward. If so, will a Samsung or SanDisk SATA SSD work fine or is there a specific one that

Re: I was wondering if it's possible to buy 3200 RAM and actually get it to run at 3200 in the R5. R5 ram spec 2666 MHz up to 3200 MHz (XMP memory) Get crucial guaranteed to work https://www.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/alienware/aurora-r5#mem
