battery replacement for latitude e5470 what volt battery should i buy and where can i buy orignal battery??
Hello, everyone,
I have been experiencing issues with my Dell Latitude E5470 laptop because its battery does not last more than one hour. I want to replace it.
What voltage should I buy to make the battery last at least 3 or 4 hours?
Where can I purchase the original battery?
Can I replace it myself, and is it safe to do so?
Kindly reply to me.

Hi @shafiq8
there are 2 options for your laptop, a 47Wh and a 62Wh (+ a 38Wh compatible battery from a different model).
I would choose the 62Wh as it will give you a little more battery life.
As part number you can choose any of the following, as it was used on different systems across the years: 7V69Y, TXF9M, HK6DV, K3JK9, CHWGG or 79VRK.
You are posting on the Italian community so I'll go ahead and guess you are currently residing in Italy :)
Unfortunately dell.com no longer offers a replacement battery for your laptop, as the 5 year policy has expired.
IPC Computer, a well reputed German store that sells all across Europe, has the 62Wh listed.
You could also try to contact the local Dell Support line, 800780220 or 0257782690 from Mon to Fri, 9am to 6pm.
Replacing a battery is extremely easy, here is the service manual for your model, procedure is explained at page 11.
EDIT: Dell support number

no no no no, absolutely avoid italybatteria.it and the likes.
This kind of stores resell Chinese stocks of cheap refurbished batteries, whose original exhausted cells are replaced with cheap new ones preserving the main circuitry/chip, or they more or less knowingly sell fake ones.
There is a dozen websites like this in Italy alone, they all refer to some office room in a Chinese building/mall.
If you have a 3 cell 47Wh battery then you can either decide to remove the 2.5" haddisk drive bay and adopt a bigger sized 6 cell battery, but if you need the 2.5" HDD then you will have to buy a 47Wh battery again, because it's the only one that will fit.
If I it was up to me, I would ditch the mechanical drive and buy a 6 cell capacity, if you need more storage space you could easily buy a new NVMe m.2 and clone the system drive on it so you wouldn't even need to reinstall the operating system and all your personal apps (I can give you some pointers on that if you need).
A good model by Crucial as the P3 1TB only costs EUR 56 on Amazon, 2TB EUR 88.
Or you can buy a higher performance model as the P5 Plus (that would grant top performances even on the most recent laptops -> keep it for a future pc) for EUR 77 on Amazon, 2TB for EUR 135.
But if you prefer to keep the 47Wh + hdd caddy bay, Dell P/N for the 47Wh are W9FNJ, JY8D6 or RDRH9.
