MD3200 SAS Hyperv 2016 Cluster latency
Hello,
My configuration:
MD3200 Raid 6 bay.
2 R620 servers + 1 R320 controller configured in a failover hyperv cluster.
The two nodes are connected via 6Gbs SAS links.
1 port SAS A server -> MD3200 1 port 0 controller
1 SAS B port server -> MD3200 2 port 0 controller
2 port SAS A server -> MD3200 1 port 1 controller
2 port SAS B server -> MD3200 1 port 1 controller
My problem is that I am having problems with slowness when I copy files to the storage space on the disk bay, my VMs stored on the disk bay are very slow.
The mpio is configured in Round Robin.
If I transfer a file from the controller to one of the nodes locally on its hard disk, I take 2 times less time than when copying on the shared volume of the disk bay.
hoping someone can help me.
Thank you.

Hi,
could you check first that multipathing is correctly configured into your OS then check if the VDs are correctly assigned to the right controler (if not you could have prefered path error on logs) after that please check that RAID cache is used for each VD configuration and if the RAID level set suit with the data access usage.

Hello,
Thanks for your answer, the VD is well on its way.
The MPIO is configured in Round-Robin
Does the cache seem to be on?
It is a Raid6 which is configured on the bay.
Below are the screenshot.
Thank you in advance.

Hi,
yes you have to RAID cache be activated. If not that could dramaticaly impact the performance.
Let me know if that solve your problem.

Hello,
When I look in the parameters of my two virtual disks the cache seems to be activated (see screenshot)? Is there another place where you have to check your settings?
Thank you.

Hello,
from your setting cache is activated, there aren't any other place to activate cache.
Thanks
