Upgrade to Windows 10 Home, version 1511, 10586 from Version 10.0.10240 failed to install on my Venue 8 Pro. It stuck at the 40% progress overall and at 23% for installing features and drivers. Fortunately, the forced reboot caused it to restore the earlier version, which took only a few minutes. An

Kevpilot...the answer is NO! If the update fails, supposedly Windows knows not to try it again.  The only way you can try it again is to use the Windows 10 Media creation tool.  Before you try again...a few things...remove ALL Dell softwar

Microsoft pulled the update. Based on issues that I have read here and many other forums...it caused a lot of issues with hardware like wireless adapters, camera, fingerprint readers and more.  Here is one story.  MS has chosen NOT to elaborate...which to me, is not a good sign!

Not irreversible at all! Create a USB installer version and you have the entire installer at your fingertips.  Also, during install, it creates windows.old.  If you decide you don't like what you see, go to settings...updates and chose to

I have the 64GB SSD in mine...with about 45 free...I get that. Odd thing is that the original release of Windows 10 allowed many to use the SD card to help install.  This build did not offer the same.  As a matter of fact, if you have SD c

My problem was the SD card. I have the most up to date firmware on the tablet.  Once I removed the SD card, the upgrade installed.  Beware...camera doesn't work in this build.  If that doesn't bother you...go for it!

Had to go back to 10.0.10240 to get the cameras to work again. There is something wrong with the camera drivers with the new version release!  Tons of complaints in the MS community from all tablet owners, not just Dell.

Little additional note! Check your camera and make sure it works.  Unfortunately, the new Fall update broke my camera and I get an Oops!  Something doesn't work and a code with it.  I reinstalled the Intel Chipset drivers from Dell fo

What is odd. I can install 10240 from Win 8.1 from a clean install.  Then the next thing I do is run Windows update...the TH2 update is there and fails...go figure.  MS has really screwed up this update. Keeping at 8.1...fewer privacy i

I have no idea! All I know is that I can't get Windows 10 installed again, no matter how I try.  Even if I wanted to upgrade to 10...it won't.  Tried to restore from a backup using EasUS ToDo Workstation...fails.  So no Win 10
