A suggested good way to put together a fast R7 right now is: 1. buy the R7 on sale with the i5-8400, 850w liquid-cooled ps, 1080ti GPU, single 1 TB drive, and 8 GB 2666 ram ($1567)(and potential $141 rebate on more stuff). 2. pull out the cpu and put in an 8086K ($425). This is just a 8700K selec

Directions are in the tech manual. It would require knowing how to avoid damaging pins in the CPU socket, and re-apply heat-conductive paste to the cooler head, but there are plenty of YouTubes on these, and they are not difficult.  I've moved

I have an Aurora R7 model with an i5 8400 with a stock cpu fan and I may have won an i7 8086k that I'd like to swap in it's place. Will there be any issues with doing this aside from extra power needed and potentially more hot temps I'll need to deal with? I'm more concerned if there will be BIOS r

A person buying an R7 now may not be able to get a 8086K in it, but he could buy it with an i5-8400 and ebay the 8400 for maybe $130-150 toward the 86. Intel is just charging $90 to bin the chips.

Hi, I have a problem. I have an aurora r7 with ram hyperX fury 16 gb 2933. I will upgrade this and i bought a second ram hyperX fury 16 gb 2933. I put them on position 1-3 of mother board. When i turned on pc at the first time there wasn't problem, but when i turned off pc and turned on it agai

Answered that above. You might have two HyperX which were made with different parts, and will not work together.  Pairs should be identical, bought at the same time.  If not, they may or may not work.

There has been discussion to the effect that the HyperX 2933 available now is not the same (different chips on the modules) as was being furnished in systems some months ago, and that they are not compatible as pairs.  Suggest going back through

The Alienware cooler should be easy to install; download the R7 service manual. Apply the thermal paste according to instructions, and if they seem vague, there are tons of how-to stuff on the net.  In Alienware Command Center, make sure the p

Hi everyone! So, I bought a New Aurora R7 with the 850W PSU and the 1070! Real good machine, however... The two 120mm fans, and the noise they make are driving me NUTS! I played with Alienware software to fine-tune it's speed, it's better, but still horridly terrible. My previous build had 12 fans,

I hear you. My R7 is fine for what it is.  But I decided to build another 8700K with a re-lidded 5.2 GHz chip, a Maximus X Hero mb, Noctua U14S push-pull cooler, an EVGA 1080ti FTW3, 2x8 Tridentz 4266 ram, Samsung SM961 PCIe NVMe 512 GB ssd, an

Can someone help please. 850W EPA Bronze PSU Liquid Cooled Chassis vs 850 Watt Multi-GPU Approved Power Supply with High Performance Liquid Cooling Are these the same?. I upgraded from stock to 850 Watt Multi-GPU Approved Power Supply with High Performance Liquid Cooling but when I got the spec

Recommend you check the ram to make sure they did ship 2x8 and not 1x16, as they sent me. I changed to 2x GSkill Ripjaws V, which was a big ramspeed improvement. I was using an R7 with the same setup, except a 1TB spinner and a Samsung SM961 512GB N

Can anyone give me a link to a website selling this? I'm buying one module with the system, and want to buy another one, separately. I can't find HyperX at 2933MHz for sale anywhere. What am I missing here? Thanks.

H

This is all a bunch of d..... nonsense. Any decent z370 board should provide BIOS adjustments for a range of ram latency and speed, and support 4-DIMM kits, LIKE THE SERVICE MANUAL SAYS.  I think the problem may be that we are stuck with a Flin
