HPUX 11.31 with XtremIO 4.x

Hi,

It seems in the 4.x Host guide that HPUX is in there from an OS perspective, but on the SSM it is not supported with 4.0 so not sure if this is just leftover from upgrading the guides and shouldn't be in the 4.x guide yet or not. I will go down the RPQ route for now, but also noticed this blurb in the 4.x guide that I was hoping to get some insight on:

Given the new OS settings in 4.0, even if HPUX is chosen it doesn't seem to invoke anything like volume set addressing (aka vbit on the VMAX) so was curious if reading this note means that only 8 devices max can be allocated to an HPUX server with either 3.x or 4.x code? That seems very low, but since we can't put different LUNs behnid different target ports on the XtremIO that last sentence confuses me a bit and just wanted to seek clarification on the number of LUNs we can present to an HPUX 11.31 server?

thanks for any insight.

The restriction of 8 LUNs applies only if you are following the legacy HPUX addressing mechanism.

As for support of HPUX with XtremIO 4.0 - work with your EMC account team to get the latest status on this. This is being worked on by the Engineering teams.
