Dell XPS 15 9570 USB-C power circuit is a BAD design. Broke 2X in 6 years
The USB-C power input from a Dell dock no longer charges the laptop.
This has happened to me TWO times. It took about 2.5 years to break each time.
My USB-C worked with the TB16 then the power in circuit for the USB-C broke. Then motherboard replaced and now it happened again and I have the Dell Thunderbolt Dock WD22TB4 powering the USB-C.
Bad engineering design. The circuit uses the ISL88738 Is a Buck-Boost battery charger but I believe it is something before that from the USB-C circuit because the DC In still works fine.
Dell needs to figure this out.
A new motherboard costs as much as a lap
Probably is a $0.05 part that broke (resistor, diode or similar)

PS: To fix this the motherboard needs to be replaced. Current Dell quote $1,500!
