XPS 8930, Crucial RAM
Considering installing additional RAM from 16GB to 32GB and notice in various posts that crucial.com is a frequently recommended source
Currently 16GB total RAM installed (8GB x 2) 8GB 1Rx8 DDR4 UDIMM 2666MHz (Dell P/N AA101752)

Looking at the crucial.com website and using the system compatibility check function for XPS8930 this is one of the options presented

Quantity (2) required (8GB x 2) for total 16GB in order to keep the memory running dual channel and once installed bringing the total system RAM to 32GB
Any thoughts from other users of crucial.com RAM regarding the quality and performance of their products in comparison to the Dell product option?

Crucial RAM works fine plus they guarantee 100% compatibility and a limited lifetime warranty, but I am not sure why you picked the single memory module which you have to buy two versus the 16GB kit (2x8GB). I am sure the Dell product is fine but you can purchase the Crucial 16GB kit for less than the cost of a single memory module from Dell.

I’ve just upgraded my 8930 from 8gb to 16gb with Crucial memory. Part number is showing as CT8G4DFS8266 - DDR4-2666 UDIMM. So looks to be the same as what you are quoting.
I dropped it in and it works a treat with no issues.

Thanks for confirming the quality and compatibility Vic.
I would purchase the 16GB kit (2x8GB) that you referenced in the link, I just grabbed the first link from the Crucial site when I was looking at it to post the question about it here.
The difference in pricing between Dell and Crucial is a definite factor, knowing now that Crucial stands behind the quality, compatibility and offers a limited lifetime warranty, makes the decision that much easier.
