Instructional: How to Replace WES with ThinOS

I am using VMWare Horizon and their USB passthrough. I have users working from home that need printers and scanners. Previously my users were using Teradici zero clients and the printers and scanners simply passed through to the VM with no problems and no client side drivers. However, because WES is a Windows based OS and uses the VMWare software client, I now need client side drivers for these devices in order to perform passthrough. The write filter prevents the installation of those drivers unless I turn it off and back on. This is a massive amount of extra work that must be done individually on every thin client because my scanner and printer drivers don't come in a silently installable form that could be utilized by the Apps and Data menu in WMS.

At this point, with all the issues I've experienced with it, I would really like to switch from WES to ThinOS to see if I can't build a more work-from-home friendly solution with that. If anyone is checking these forums, is there a means to replaces WES with ThinOS?

Did you ever find a solution for this? I'm in a similar situation, though for a different reason. I just got off the phone with support and they said it wouldn't work, so...?
