Webex Meetings VDI with ThinOS 9.1 not working

Is anyone testing or using Webex Meetings VDI? i had been testing and using the beta 9.1.1036 and WEbex Meetings package 401002341.2 and it was working great. When installed the new release of 9.1.1131 and Webex package 40.10.11.15.4 its stopped working, no longer shows the - VDI banner in Webex Meetings when you start a meeting. i can connect another 5070 to same session with the beta firmware , it again works.

Wondered if anyone else was testing , i know some of the other programs are more prevalent but.. Webex Meetings is what we use here.. Thanks!!!

For both Citrix and Vmware, on the VDI side, make sure you are using the Cisco WebEx Meetings VDI client, not the standard WebEx client.

If you read the following from Cisco, https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/collaboration/webex_vdi/admin/webex_b_admin-cisco-wmvdi-40-8/webex_m_wvdi-software-installation.pdf

You need to download the VDI client from an existing WebEx customers tenant.

Download webexvdi.msi from

https://.webex.com/webappng/sites//dashboard/download

Replace with your company name.

  • If you are connecting to Citrix, make sure you disable the "UC Virtual Channels" for services you are not using.   CWA for linux has limitations on the VC's it can use

    • make sure you install the WebEx Meetings Package on the device

    • If connecting to Vmware
      • Make sure you are connecting via Blast as PCOIP is not supported.
    • For Citrix and Vmware
      • When you open the WebEx client, verify it is optimized

I hope this helps you.

Assuming your trying with Citrix?  We are attempting with VMWare Horizon/WebEx Meetings/ThinOS 9.1.  It appears they released something on Cisco's website (Dells package is only Citrix support), but this new release on the WebEx website itself shows it supports VMWare.  The file is some IPK file extension and I have no idea what to do with it (Super Frustrating!).  Typically you need the PKG to load into the WYSE 5070.  If not VMware Horizon then i can I guess start a separate thread so this doesn't bomb you out but it wasn't clear from your posting what application platform your using with WebEx.

HOLY COW.. thats whats been wrong all along since i updated to 9.1.1131, now it works!!! Thank you!!

So for 9.1.1131 and WMS 3.1 - you have to update the config UI in WMS to  then be able to turn on the UC virtual channel for Webex Meetings. The settings are not there in teh default till you do.

I had missed setting this to email me when replied - did not know about the UC Virtual channels and had to update my config UI in WMS to then see them. Have done that and will now test. Thanks!

It is an easy setting to miss.  I have missed it as well at times.

Glad it worked out.

I wish i had checked back here earlier. I have had
open on this and they had not suggested this. I know Webex is not as popular as Teams and Zoom so i guess that had something to do with it.
