WMS - Direct RDP Connections Do Nothing

Hello, I've setup an instance of Wyse Management Suite 1.1. I decided to use 1.1 because I have Wyse T10 (3010) models that have a firmware version of 8.0_210 which means they will not connect to the SSL enforced WMS 1.3.

My plan was to upgrade to 1.3 once I get all of the firmware updated to 8.4_112. However after some testing today, I've run into an issue where after I update the firmware the terminal will no longer connect to the Direct RDP Connection that I had setup on the policy in WMS that it connected to prior to the firmware update.

Within the company we also have some 3040 models, which were sent with firmware version 8.4_105 on them. They also fail to connect to any Direct RDP Connections. However after running a firmware update to 8.5_020 on them, they will be able to connect automatically upon startup.

It is frustrating that it seems the firmware upgrade for the older models is breaking the connection, and the upgrade on the new ones is fixing it.

Here is a breakdown of terminal model, firmware version and the status:

Device Firmware Version Status
Wyse T10 (3010) 8.0_210 Will Connect w/ NLA Enabled
Wyse T10 (3010) 8.1_027 Will Connect
Wyse T10 (3010) 8.4_112 Will NOT Connect
Wyse 3040 8.4_105 Will NOT Connect
Wyse 3040 8.5_020 Will Connect

Here are the settings in my policy, I have the Remote Connections (Legacy) setup as well as the Direct RDP Connections under Remote Connection (8.5+).

From just my observations, it seems to be an issue with the firmware version 8.4. I have spent many hours now trying to figure out why this is happening. There are no errors posted within the event log for the terminal. Any help with this issue is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

8.5_020 is available for 3010/T10, call support or download from DDL.

Try adding this to the advanced section in WMS

SecurityPolicy=low
