Can you try right clicking on the Companion installer and select "Run as Administrator". That should correct the issue for you. Please let me know if this does not help.

Hi guys.

I'm having the same issue here. I'm running on win XP. I'm the sysadmin, but the error still there.

Any other solution?

Hi Josh,

I have the same problem. Firewall and antivirus disabled. MSI installer downloaded and installed. Administrator privileges checked. Still with every installation I get error on "4. Configuring user privileges". This happens on three different Windows7 computers, I try since two days to get this running. I find this very annoying. There must be a major problem with this solution.

Please disable your firewall and anti-virus applications and try to install from there. Sometimes these applications will block the installation and you may need to run the installer through the program to allow it to install. Please let me know if doing this does not help.

Can you try installing the companion software using a .msi installer rather than the .exe to see if that makes any difference? Download the .msi installer here:

Click the Yellow Download button (on the left side of the screen). Please let me know if this helps.

Chinotto, are you getting a red X next to #4 or are you getting some kind of error message?

I am curious if you can manually add yourself to remote access? Can you try the following for me:

-Launch the Start menu
-Right Click on Computer
-Select Properties
-On the left side, select Remote Settings
-While on the Remote tab, press the Select Users button
-Select the Add button
-On the large box at the bottom of the Window, type your username and select Check Names

This should automatically fill in your username. From here, select Ok, Ok, and Apply. Try running the installer again to see if you get the same error.

Glad to hear it is working and yes, you can ignore the red x for now unless you notice something is not working properly.

As for the touch pointer, we are aware of the issue and are currently working on a solution to fix this for the next release hopefully. You can try doing a Force Stop on the application under Application Settings or restarting your device. My apologies for the inconvenience.

Hi Josh,

I did the settings as suggested by you but I still got the red X on user privileges. However, I tried again to connect from my tab with PocketCloud and it worked now!

I guess I can ignore the red cross since everything is doing well, right?

One last point: Can you help me how to get the mouse pointer back as it disappears time by time. There is no menu on my Tab to get settings for Pocketcloud. The only way I found was to wipe the current memory through task manager, but this is only a workaround and there should be a real solution for this.

Thanks,

Lutz
