Optiplex 7060 micro - no markings on front plate - is this normal?

Hi everybody,

I've just bought a micro 7060 i5-8500 that was sold as new, but the front bears no markings whatsoever except for the Dell square badge as part of the case. There are no symbols next to the audio jack ports or the USB ports, not is the Optiplex 7060 model name printed where it should be.

However, the back plate is marked next to each port and has a valid service tag I checked on the Dell website.

What do you think, is this normal? What system do I have? Is it refurbished? But why the missing markings on the front? It is completely blank.

Thanks for any thoughts!

it means the unit was assembled or refurbished using a blank bezel.  It does not have the genuine 7060MFF bezel.

ASSY,BZL,FRT,MICRO,7060.

$9.99

could be it had the genuine bezel but seller got it replaced.

check its spec to match with service tag.  if there is any discrepancy, seller had refurbished the unit.

I've seen similar models with no front panel markings.  And the service tag resolves to the model you claim it should be.

As to whether it's truly new/unused -- you'll have to ask the seller.  It's about six years old at this point.

Hi guys,

Thank a lot for your quick feedback!

I checked the system's specs by its service tag and the current configuration is apparently quite different from what it was originally - it now has a SATA SSD (Kingfast) instead of the M.2 SSD on the spec sheet, it has 16GB of RAM instead of 8 (2x 2 different 8GB modules - Samsung 2666 and Hynix 2400 MHz!), the CPU is i5-8500 instead of the original i5-8400T - so it is obviously a refurbished system, but interestingly enough it looks brand new on the inside, not just well cleaned or dusted, at least the motherboard and the other visible parts look brand new and shiny.

Too bad I'll have to return it...

It's possible that the original front bezel was broke, cracked, or heavily scratched.
