WMS - DHCP Tag

Hello,

I set up dhcp tag for my wyse 3040 to recognize wms server with no problem.

But if i change the string of the tag 199 (group token), even after a reboot of the device, he don't change the value of token. So the device can't change to another group. The only thing to do is to restore the device to change his group.

Is there any other method ?

By design DHCP OT is only for initial registration with WMS.  Once a device is registered with WMS, it will ignore DHCP OT, and group changes are handled within the WMS console.

Hi, thank you for taking time for helping me.

In my compagny we have subnet scope for different location, so i set up dhcp tag with different token group to know where is the thin client in the web console.

We know that user can take the thinclient and connect it in a another office.

i just want to know if there is an another rmethod to know if a change were made.

If your intent is to have the device change groups when they change networks, then you only have two choices.

1) Manually move them in WMS

2) Leverage Rules (if you have WMS Pro) to move devices between groups when subnet changes.
