3040 ThinOS 8.6 - HP LaserJet Pro Printer USB Locks Terminal
User purchased a LaserJet Prom MFP M479 to replace her older M477. When the new printer is plugged into the Wyse 3040, the unit locks up. When rebooted, the device hangs on the Dell logo screen and goes no further. When the newer printer is unplugged from USB the device boots without issue.
Running ThinOS 8.6, firmware/software was updated last in the Fall. I don't see anything in release notes of newer versions that might have addressed this issue. I'm assuming it's with the USB device detection process? Info screen on the terminal was of no help.
Does anyone know what has changed recently with the HP printers that might be causing this? We had purchased another 2019 generation printer at the start of the pandemic and it had the same issue, but we never could track down what was causing it. Ended up giving that user an older HP LJPro.
