DHCP WDM server config?

DHCP WDM server config?

I have DHCP options 186 and 192 (in spite of running default port), and WES still isn't picking up the WDM server IP. Is is supposed to talk to the WDM server without filling in the WDM entry in control panel if the DHCP options are set?

Thanks!

Can you provide the model of the thin client and the firmware version you are using?

I've been told by a senior Dell engineering resource that the documentation for DHCP tags is wrong.  I still have not gotten them to work reliably, but among the things I've been told:

  • Word or Byte will not work; must use DWORD or 2-byte array
  • Byte was only intended for limited Linux clients, not WES7
  • "The 2-byte array is the oldest most supported option" - whatever that means
