x17 R1, can't update to Windows 11?
Hello,
I have an x17 R1, i9-11980HK, 32GB ram, Nvidia RTX 3080. I opened the case both to Dell and to Microsoft. I tried to update to win 11, after having received the classic "download ad install" from Win update.
After rebooting the pc cancel the updating process and then goes back to win10. Tried many time, no solutions. Also more problems related to the booting and softwares but I have fixed these.
People also connected remotely (from Microsoft and from Dell itself) but they resign after some attempt.
I'm alone in the world with this or there is someone else?

At the end the only solution was reset the pc to original state, formatting and re-installing win10. Then install win11 from usb. Too time expensive. But now it works.

You tried downloaded the windows 11 media from the Microsoft website? If no, create one by using a USB flash drive.
Download Windows 11 (microsoft.com)
After, disable the computer's Anti virus software and firewall temporary, and then try to install windows 11. Keep in mind, antivirus software will sometimes detect the Windows Installed as a virus threat and then block it from installing onto the computer.

Hello ,
yes, I tried a fresh install, using a USB support. Nothing to do.... and I did it with a technical support from Microsoft connected.
BUT I didn't shutted down windows antivirus etc. So this could be a further attempt. Simply I didn't consider the chance that an antivirus made by Microsoft could detect an installation of a Microsoft's software as a virus. Is something like if I detect myself as a criminal inside my house and I suicide for defending myself. Congrats to Microsoft's developers.
