Sidebar/Gadgets Constantly Crashing and Restarting

Not sure if this is a know issue, but my XPS M1210 is pretty solid with Vista Ultimate. I only have one issue at this point with Sidebar. 2GB of memory, all updates installed. It crashes and restarts alot. Much of the time it is after waking the computer from sleep. Sometimes a bunch of the gadgets crash and I get a message to restart them (which I do) and they come back. For a while the computer is fine and then the gadgets or Sidebar crash again for no obvious reason even with the computer not being put to sleep. Is this a know problem? Very strange, I am only using a few gadgets a battery and weather one I downloaded from Windows Live, Calendar, etc.

I have a new Dell Dimension 410 with Vista Home Premium installed new. I had freezing problems and Sidebar issues right from the start. Explorer was having issues as well. I did two things. I stopped the sidebar from loading and I uninstalled Google Desktop which was bundled in with everything. My machine runs faster and I have had very few freezing issues. I now enjoy Vista.
The sidebar gadgets are novelties. You really don't need them...you have a clock and calendar right on the taskbar. I am convinced that Google Desktop was interfereing with the workings of Internet Explorer. It is worth a try to see if these tips clear things up...you can always put them back.

I was using clock, notes, and weather gadgets. I just didn't remove them, I stopped the sidebar from loading at startup. Before doing this, the computer would freeze at odd times and often the sidebar would either freeze up or fail to initialize at startup. The gadget sidebar was way too unstable for me.
