Reinstall Windows 10 on its partition, don't touch the other partitions

I have an Inspiron 3793 laptop. I want a clean installation of Windows, without any bloatware, on the partition I have reserved for Windows 10. I don't want to do anything on the other partitions. Reset or reinstall Windows 10 on your Dell computer says doing a 'Restore your Dell computer using Windows Push-Button Reset' "reinstalls Windows 10 operating system, removes all your personal files, removes apps and drivers you installed, removes any changes that are made to settings, and removes any apps that Dell installed". Are all these changes done only on a partition you specify, or are they done on every partition?

The link you have shared in your post will put Dell's OS image back including Bloatware.

1. Ensure your hard drive is not Encrypted ( windows setting > device encyption) turn it off

2. Use microsoft's media creation tool and create bootable USB with stock microsoft image

3. Reboot to F12 > Boot from USB

4. Install now > Custom installation

5. Now you can simply format the partition where current windows is installed and proceed.

Yup it will run in background

Whenever you do a fresh windows install

Let windows update first, check for updates >> Reboot > Check for update > Reboot

Until it says UP TO DATE

Than you run SupportAssist

It has many features and yes it runs in background.

So you can use it install Drivers and than uninstall it.

I would again recommend keeping it, you can driver updates as soon as they are available. Plus a build in hardware checkup too.

Thank you for the reply.

And I thought it will get rid of them!

BTW, will I need to have any drivers on hand? I tried posting a list but I don't see that post.

Thank you.

Yes you will have to update the drivers.
I recommend SupportAssist for that

Since you have mentioned you don't want Bloatware and not sure if we should consider SupportAssist a bloatware

You can download drivers from support.dell.com

Install them in exact this order

Chipset,

Intel management

Graphics

BIOS

Yes, I would like to avoid bloatware but it sounds like you don't consider SA bloatware. If it won't run 50 things in the background and slow things down then OK.

If I choose to use SA, do I install Windows 10 as you described in your 1st reply, and then once I'm in Windows I install SA and tell it to install or update the drivers?

Thank you XPS_Man!

Yes, I'll let Windows finish updating and once I'm into Windows I'll install and run SA. Much easier than hunting down individual drivers (now and in the future).

Thank you so much for all your help.

OK, Re-installation is done. I, also, updated the drivers via SA. The laptop is much more responsive and a lot quicker now! Thanks again XPS_Man!

0XJ8C4 Motherboard is excellent. Exact replacement board for older Dell XPS8900 Desktop. No issues!

The motherboard is the backbone that ties the computer's components together at one spot and allows them to talk to each other. Without it, none of the computer pieces, such as the CPU, GPU, or hard drive, could interact. Total motherboard functionality is necessary for a computer to work well.
