VXRail manager is not detecting any nodes while initializing

hi all

im trying to initialize a new VxRail enclosure which contains 4 nodes (  G series all flash)

when i access the ip 192.168.10.200, and after accepting the EULA, the vxrail is stuck at the window where it is trying to detect nodes( keeps telling that there were 0 nodes found) as per the attached screen

i tried restarting the whole enclosure , multiple times, and im not sure what else to check

can someone please help or make any suggestions to follow

thanks

Are all nodes powered on? 2,3,4?

Which version of vxrail manager?

Have you opened a support ticket with Dell EMC?

Have you reached out to your CE who is assisting with the install?

There is specific procedure, depending on which version of the vxrail manager is installed to restart the nodes to broadcast they are available for installation.

Along with all of the questions from Vuong, I'd like to ask if you can post marvin.log from VXRAIL manager.

If you don't know how to do this, someone from the support team can help.

My guess is there is some kind of networking misconfiguration in the environment that's causing nodes not to be discovered. Just to confirm, did you end up enabling Ipv6 and multicast on the management VLAN?

What would also help is output of the following commands:

from vxrail manager: /usr/lib/vmware-loudmouth/bin/loudmouthc query

from esxi nodes: /usr/lib/vmware/loudmouth/bin/loudmouthc query

hello Aleksey

thank you for your reply , you are right , the reason was a TOR misconfig , and i fixed it , now i can see all 3 nodes

and i have started the configuration , now im getting  new error as im unable to access the NTP or DNS on ip 192.68.5.200

despite the fact that i can ping it and the GW 192.168.0.222 from the ToR switch  !

im attaching print screens  for your reference, please let me know if you have any suggestions

note: im using a flat network design, no VLANs so im using 0 in the VLAN ID box

Next to v4.0 on left of screen is "view log" that is the install log. There are some more details in there. Make sure NTP services are available. If windows do at command prompt: w32tm /query /peers

Login to VxRailManager:

For NTP:

     # ntpdate -q ntp.server.name.fqdn.or.ip

For DNS:

     # nslookup

     >server dns.server.ip

     >yahoo.com

The other option for DNS is to modify /etc/resolv.conf and try nslookup.

A wrong Default GW in the JSON can lead to this error.

Did you configure NTP with IDRAC or BIOS on all nodes ? We had the same problem as you when we deploy VxRail and it was because of that.

Hello Yudhistira Bagas,

Here is the link to the Dell EMC VxRail Network Planning Guide. I would confirm that you have setup your switches as stated in the guide.
