VXRail E460 Dell Hardware - NICs question

Hello, I have installed vxrails G410 and they have 2 NICs + BMC port. Is my first time installing VXRail E460 Dell Hardware, When I checked the nics I see 4 network ports  + 1 iDrac. I am using 2 TOR switches. I am connecting one port to each switch. What should I do with the other 2 ports? what is the purpose of this 2 extra ports?

On the E460 model, those other 2 ports are 1GbE ports.  We have an option on single socket systems to use 4x1GbE ports - in those configurations, the 2x10GbE will negotiate down to 1GbE and we use all 4.  If you're on a system hat's 2x10GbE (which it sounds like), those ports are unused and could be cabled and used for VM Networks only.  You can't move the networks VxRail creates (vSAN, vMotion, Management) to those 2 ports. More details can be found in the networking guide - https://www.emc.com/collateral/guide/h15300-vxrail-network-guide.pdf

Hello Jeremy, thanks for your reply.

So for initialization I only need to use the 2 SFP 10G ports (each node) ?? and leave the the other 2 RJ45 ports disconnected (for VM Networks optional).

Correct - you'd only plug in the first 2 connections on the nodes.  The Install Team can help guide you through that.
