Vplex WAN Com Port LC-SC Termination to Cisco 6509

Hi

We experienced a major performance issue today with our Vplex Environment:

Cause

Two brand new LC-SC OM3 cables that replaced existing LC-SC OM3 cables terminating on Cisco 6509

Issue

We replaced two cables on the Cluster-2 Director 2-1-A (A, B) with brand new cables, when we first inserted the cables into the switch we did not get a Link Up .  We switched the TX/RX around on the SC Side and the link came up.  We did this for both cables.

We had 8x ESX Hosts in a cluster Connected to Cluster-1 all VM workloads were running on this cluster.

We had 8x ESX Hosts in a cluster Connected to CLuster-2 , all ESX hosts were in maintenance mode during the cable replacement.

All Vms attached to Cluster-1 began experiencing issues.

Can anyone confirm if plugging in LC-SC cables in RX/TX  on the SC side would result in "No Link" on the Cisco switch and Vplex Port or any other switch or device for that matter....

I have attached port stats on the Vplex Side.

We reverted to using the old cables and everything started working as normal....

I don't understand why there performance went to hell on Cluster-1 / Vm's , replacing cables in HA enabled Vplex ports I would have thought would not have caused such an issue, particularly because there were no Vm's running on Cluster-2.  Anyone have any ideas ?

I have logged a support call and am waiting for feedback on RCA.
