Service Password Expired

I am trying to set the new service password after the default service password expired.  Every combination of "new passwords" that I attempt consistently gives me a "too short" error message.  I have tried alpha-numeric up to 12 characters and still says "too short".  Does someone have some direction on the password policy in GeoSynchrony 5.5?

I have followed above instructions and was able to change it successfully. Make sure you change password on the internal FC switches as well. They are brocade switches and can be changed using brocade passwd command. The IP's of those switches can be obtained from above doc. You can also look at this KB 485186

Minimum character length is 8.

Hi,

Check out the Security guide if you haven't hit that yet and you can find some of the specs:

The problem is the password is already expired so the first login i have to the MGMT server fails.  I have another VPLEX cluster that the password has not expired however i am having issues resetting this password as well.  I have went through the procedures you shared multiple times and no matter what I attempt i get failures.  I have tried logging in as "admin" with the default password and it prompt me to reset the password but it immediately goes to login failed and kicks me back to the MGMT server prompt.

You need to login as service to change service password. As for the box that had expired password, you need to contact EMC support. They will be happy to help you.
