Windows 10 has 36,542 cans tied to your tail to go anywhere on the internet.  All of the Live TILES use bandwidth as well as all the malware and BHO's and and and and. Useless applications like Cortana and other NOTIFICATION Nagging Junk also bogs it down.

WORSE the default is to UPDATE OTHERS WINDOWS UPDATE STRANGERS on the internet YOUR MACHINE is the SERVER.

When you open an Admin Command Prompt and do Netstat -b -o -a -r -n  (Because Jason Borne is the only one who is on your side) you will see hundreds of incoming as well as outgoing connections.

netstat  [-b] [-o] [-a] [-r] [-n] [-e] [-f]  [-p protocol]  [-s] [-t] [-x] [-y] [/?]

DISABLE IP 6 to 4 as well as TEREDO and ISATAP

netsh int ipv6 isatap set state disabled
netsh int ipv6 6to4 set state disabled
netsh interface teredo set state disable

You need to DISABLE all Live Tiles. You need to REMOVE Suggestions and other nonsense that INSTALLS SOFTWARE in the background whether you ask for it or not.  You need to MAKE Windows Media Player the Default for Photos and BMP and JPG etc. You need to DISABLE IP6 TEREDO AND ISATAP  You need to configure ALL NETWORK INTERFACES to have IP4 and IP6 only.  You need to DEINSTALL Microsoft File and Print Sharing.  You need to DEINSTALL QOS Packet Scheduler.  You need to TURN OFF ALL NOTIFICATIONS AND SUGGESTIONS FOR EVERYTHING.  You need to DEINSTALL AND DISABLE MICROSOFT ONE DRIVE.  This is not a water chicken Install.

Turn off notifications

Step 1: To add, disable, or enable notifications, begin by clicking the Action Center icon located on the right-hand side of the Windows taskbar.
Step 2: Then, click the All Settings button with the gear icon
Step 3: Select System in the top-left corner of the window.
Step 4: In “System,” click “Notifications & Actions” from the left-hand menu. This will take you to a screen providing access to all of the settings related to notifications and the Action Center.
Step 5: Look for the Notifications subhead, where you will see a number of toggles for various types of notifications. The following is a list of the settings you can toggle on this screen:

Get notifications nags and bandwidth hogging from apps & senders.
Show notifications on the lock screen.
Show alarms, reminders, and incoming VoIP calls on the lock screen.
Hide notifications when duplicating my screen.
Get tips, tricks, and suggestions as you use Windows.

Disable Suggested Apps Windows 10 Start Menu

Turn off AND manage these suggested apps.
If you see one, right-click on it and select an option from the context menu.

Completely turn off the Suggested apps section, select Turn off all suggestions.

Microsoft makes it increasingly difficult to know what is going on.   You will have to learn about all of the above if you do not understand.   Hand holding over many hours is not forthcoming.

There is support for all of this but its not free.
