Vostro 3020 memory compatibility
Vostro 3020 Tower Desktop
Hello,
I just got a dell 9cxf2 memory upgrade for my Vostro 3020. The PC came with factory installed DDR4 8Gb from Micron.
The part I received is from Kingston 9995713-025. DELL K9CXF2-MIE
Will be any compatibility issues because of the different memory brands?

There can be potential compatibility issues with different brands (all PC's not just Dell).
We recommend all the same brand/type to avoid problems. However, since you have the memory module try it and see.

So you are writing that although I purchased a DELL original memory upgrade, I may have problems.

@greg_pap The point of the post by @fireberd was that memory incompatibilities are not just a Dell problem at times. The sure test is to install the RAM you purchased and give it a try. If you purchased through Dell then the RAM should be fine. For instance I have 2 Latitude systems and installed Timetec RAM. And surprisingly had great results. If you have problems and having purchased from Dell, the RAM should be returnable I suspect. But cross that bridge when you come to it if need be.

I installed the DELL RAM pn K9CXF2-MIE and everything works fine.
