I need help
Hello!
I want to update the system unit - the computer Dell Vostro V 3900 Mini-Tower.
This computer has the following characteristics(or should I say limitations, by that I mean the motherboard):
Processor:
Number of cores 2 (max 2)
Number of threads 4 (max 4)
Manufacturer GenuineIntel
Name Intel Core i3 4150
Codename Haswell
Specification Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-4150 CPU @ 3.50GHz
Package (platform ID) Socket 1150 LGA (0x1)
CPUID 6.C.3
Extended CPUID 6.3C
Core Stepping C0
Technology 22 nm
TDP Limit 54.0 Watts
BIOS
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
UEFI Yes
BIOS Vendor American Megatrends Inc.
Chipset
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Northbridge Intel Haswell rev. 06
Southbridge Intel H81 rev. C2
Bus Specification PCI-Express 2.0 (5.0 GT/s)
Graphic Interface PCI-Express 2.0
PCI-E Link Width x16 (max 16x)
PCI-E Link Speed 5.0 GT/s (max 5.0 GT/s)
Memory Type DDR3
DMI Baseboard (Motherboard)
vendor Dell Inc.
model 0T1D10
revision A01
I want to install in this motherboard the most powerful processor which I can put here: will Intel Core i7-4790 fit in here? As I understood I should search for only those Core i7 processors which start with 4 in their name because initially there Core i3-4150 was installed from the factory.
Then I want to put the most powerful graphic card which I can put here(even if it will be outside the case, I think it is possible to connect the card just using extension cables?)(Is it possible to put 1080Ti or analogue from AMD or something more powerful?)
Then I think it is needed to change the power supply, the computer has a 300W power supply, 80Plus Bronze (does not know what it is though). Or will it be still enough?
Then I want to add RAM, as Core i7 supports 32 GB of RAM, but there are only two RAM slots on this motherboard and I think that I should buy 2 modules each of them should be 16 GB. But I am confused by the fact that there are almost no mentions on the internet that people install 2 modules of DDR3 memory each of them by 16 GB.
Then I want to add the fastest SSD with a volume of 2 Terabytes(can I put here M.2 SSD? somehow, using PCI-express adapter), the motherboard has two SATA 3 ports and two SATA 2 ports.
Then I want to add an HDD of 2 Terabytes with a spin speed of 5200, as I think they are more reliable than those with the spin speed of 7200, to make back-ups of SSD.
I think I listed all the parts to upgrade to make it the fastest computer based on this motherboard.
I want you to advise me.
Thank you in advance.

Seems to be duplicated listing?

Re: the most powerful processor which I can put here: will Intel Core i7-4790 fit in here?
i7-4790 is top cpu. no need to get 4790k as bios does not allow overclock
I want to put the most powerful graphic card which I can
GTX 1070/1080/1080Ti or equivalent AMD cards.
Then I think it is needed to change the power supply,
600W or higher ATX psu. V3900 accommodates standard ATX psu with 24/4 pin
Then I want to add RAM, as Core i7 supports 32 GB of RAM, but there are only two RAM slots on this motherboard and I think that I should buy 2 modules each of them should be 16 GB.
should be no problem with 2x16 GB ram. Chipset is H81. On other H81 motherboard it is well known 32gb is supported, such as MSI.

Dell Vostro 3900 - MT -
Core i5 4460 3.2 GHz
4790 might need optional power supply.
