How can i check for spyware

How can I check for spyware? I use Norton Antivirus and its kind of confusing because I have to read a lot of info they give me &to figure out how to delete the infected files myself. If any one has any advice for me. I would really appreciate it.

Have you considered using AdAware SE Personal and Spybot S&D? Both of these programs are free to use. It's unfortunate, but no anti-spyware program can catch everything.

Hi,
 
Here's a pretty simple and yet VERY powerful tool Microsoft offers, it's free and really easy to run. It's called Microsoft's Malicious Software Removal Tool - It has picked up several things the mainstream programs have missed.
 
You can even run it online.

* At the top, click "Special Interest-Virus Information and Removal FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)"
* Scroll down and click "I think my system is infected. What do I do first?"
