Unisphere creates VMFS 5 datastore
Hi,
we just received our Unity 350F. It's running Unisphere 4.2.1. vCenter 6.5 is also imported. All hosts are also vSphere 6.5.
However, when Unisphere creates a VMFS iSCSI lun, the VMFS version is V5, 5.81 to be exact.
Why does Unisphere create a VMFS5 datastore and not a VMFS6 datastore which is the latest version for vSphere 6.5?
Is there a way to change this?
Franc.

Hi,
thats the way it currently is. VMFS6 is under consideration for a future version.
If you feel strongly enough about it would suggest to open a product enhancement request.
If you want VMFS6 one way to create LUNs and assign them to the ESX servers just like you would to any other SAN host.
Then you should be able to create the data store you want.

Did you find a resolution to this? It seems this is still an issue, even in Unisphere version 4.4.1.
