venue 11 pro 7130/7139: "windows 10 not suported on this device"

on dell venue 11 pro 7130/139 support page, a banner tells me that "windows 10 operating system not supported on this device".

I spent about 1600 euros less than a year ago.... is one of the top dell products on the store today...  and i cannot update it to windows 10?!?

this is the way DELL takes care about it's customers....

well done, DELL, well done....never.. NEVER buy another dell in all my life...

Way to be overly dramatic. There's nothing in this disclaimer that mentions they will NEVER support Windows 10, merely that it is CURRENTLY not supported, which makes sense, considering that Windows 10 is still in BETA and has not actually been released to manufacturers.

Any device that is built for Windows 8 will be naturally supported for Windows 10, as Microsoft is providing this as a FREE upgrade to all Windows 8 users.

Btw, I'm running Windows 10 on both a Venue 8 pro and a Venue 11 7140 and everything is working fine.

you may be right.

but please consider this: i have a 7139 with 3G WWAN module, a dell wireless 5570e, manufatured by sierra wireless.

there is no way to get this module to work on windows 10..  latest driver was released in february and doestnt' work.

some other devices (like the 7940) use the new 5808e modules, and it's latest drivers was released less than a month ago.

seems that there is no more support for the old module....

Finally, the day is here.. now, on the venue 11 pro support page, i can find this messages.

What does it mean? i cannot believe that DELL not tested win 10  on that device (one of the flagship device) since october..

problably this mean that some device used in this product are market as legacy and deprecated by the manufacturer  and cannot work with windows 10.

legacy device on a top level device?!?

P.S.: BTW, as promised, there is a new bios ...

I upgraded to Win 10 Pro 64 bit earlier today, however had to use the "Go Back" feature to roll back to Windows 8.1 Pro due to no WiFi.  I had incompatible drivers for the Dell Wireless 1537 802.11a/g/n adapter.  Device manager showed them installed properly, however Windows did not see any Network Adapters under Control Panel > Network Connections.  Please issue driver updates for Win10 Pro 64-bit!

I am trying to upgrade my dell venue pro 7130 to windows 10, I did a clean install and I was not allowed to activate windows with my dell's windows 8 activation code. How can i get the activation work? Please direct me to the right direction.

you cannot perform the upgrade in that way.

Gabriel Aul said on twitter:

"Once you upgrade W10 w/ the free upgrade offer you will able to clean reinstall Windows 10 on same device any time"

so,, first you need to upgrade from your current OS through windowsupdate and not with a clean install.

in this way, your license will be "upgraded" to windows 10.

after that, you can perform a clean install usinng the ISO file provided by microsoft.

Well I have a 1 year old Baytrail x64 and here the setup of the update won't start nor the Media Creation Toolx64.

It simply doesn't respond to all the effort although on current 8.1 it works flawless.

So I don't know why the whole upgade session won't start.
