Losing Icon Arrangement - Possible Fix

I'm pretty sure I've read about others having this problem - You arrange the icons on the Desktop, but for some reason the arrangement gets lost, and the icons just line up.

My previous fix was to use the free software, DesktopOK to restore my arrangement, but Googling around, I think I found a program the prevents them from moving in the first place.  It's another free program called Iconoid.

Check out the posting about it here.

Be sure to read the part about the options because you probably won't be happy with the default settings.

I installed it last night and so far my icons have stayed put.  Of course that is a rather short test.

Update Report -  I've had Iconoid installed for several days now.

It seems to be working.  I had a few instances where the icons lined themselves up across the top of the desktop, but when I rotated the tablet vertically, then back horizontally, the icons went back to the correct arrangement.  This one is a keeper.

I used the wrong link above when referring to the posting where I'd read about Iconoid.

This is the link I intended to post.

BTW, twice today the icons lined themselves up, but rotating the tablet vertically and then back to horizontal snapped them back into place.
