VMAX Alert Test with Syslog
I would like to test syslog notification on my VMAX 10k. I know there is a configuration setting within the daemon_options file of which I have enabled.
The description states faults can be artificially injected to generate events without stressing the Symmetrix.
Can someone direct me to the documentation on how to create these alerts so I can verify my notifications (syslog and email)?

What is the tool that is being used to manage the VMAX in your environment.
With latest unisphere version, it is very simple to enable the syslog and email notification.Make sure you login as smc user for the first time.

I am using SMC.
It is easy to setup but I want to test a syslog message so that I can see the message in my Management Tool (Syslog).
Do you know how I can simulate a test syslog alert so I can parse my syslog to ensure that message has gotten there?
