Support Assist installation not working.

I can't install dell support assist, every time I try to install it (SupportAssistInstaller.exe) it says downloading files 100% and then installation canceled, there was an unexpected error when installing support assist.

SOLUTION:

Thanks to Sir Sreejith R, there is finally a fix to this very annoying problem! There is 2 method to try, the first method is:

  1. Press the Windows Logo key + “R”
  2. Type %programdata% and press Enter
  3. Delete the following folders:
    • PCDr
    • PC-Doctor, Inc
    • SupportAssist
  4. Press the Windows Logo key + “R”
  5. Type %appdata% and press Enter
  6. Delete the “PCDr” Folder
  7. Go to the folder “C:\Program Files\Dell\”
  8. Delete the following folders:
    • SupportAssistAgent
    • SupportAssist
  9. Press the Windows Logo key + “R”
  10. Type Regedit and press Enter
  11. In the Registry Editor Delete the following registry keys:
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\PC-Doctor
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\PC-Doctor
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Dell\SupportAssistAgent
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Dell\SAA

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\Assemblies\CSmiley IndifferentProgram Files|Dell|SupportAssistAgent|bin|SupportAssistAgent.exe"

12.Download SupportAssistx64-2.2.0.253.msi from:

https://downloads.dell.com/serviceability/Catalog/

13.Uninstall Support Assist

14.Install Support Assist from the Support Site

If this doesn't work then try the second method: Please create another local admin account by following the steps on this link http://bit.ly/2MsQSkt Download the Support Assist application from the link provided earlier(If it says UI Mode not supported then download support assist from here:

https://www.dell.com/support/contents/us/en/04/article/product-support/self-support-knowledgebase/software-and-downloads/supportassist ) & check if this gets installed. Please right click on the file & run as admin.

Thanks again Sir Sreejith R for finding a fix for this annoying problem :P.

I get just a tad further with it; The first item runs, finishes, then when the next item runs, it sits there forever and never moves off 0%. NOW, I cannot even get it to properly install, as the original poster commented.
