Finger Print Scanner unavailable

I have an Inspiron 5570, it was sent back to Dell on the 5th July for blue screens and they replaced the NVMe drive.  I received the laptop back on the 9th. Only problem is now my finger print scanner no longer works. It doesn't even show in Device Manager, as well as no biometrics item showing.

The problem began today when I upgrade the pre-installed Windows10 OS  to Windows Insider program Windows 10 Version 10.0.19018.1.

I have Win 10 pro which is up to date as well as the laptop drivers. It was working before it left for repair. I thought id look for a bios update and realised that the version 1.2.3 was released on the 24th July, I`m usually up to date with drivers etc but because I had a corrupt NVMe for the past month and BSODs ive not been using it as I usually would. 

I've just read that people are downgrading their bios due to fingerprint sensor issues, so i`m guessing Dell decided to update my bios while in repair which has caused the scanner not to show/work.

Thanks for all the details. Considering you've installed the Windows 10 insider program 10.0.19018, our support would be limited in this case as the OS is not the OEM version shipped from Dell. You could install our OEM Windows 10 version that was shipped with your system and check if the issue is still present and let us know. We could look into it then.

I am experiencing the same issue but with BIOS version 1.2.2.  (Inspiron 5770, OS is Windows10 Home v10.0.19018) I tried reinstalling the SW driver directly from Dell but to no avail. The fingerprint sensor is no longer recognized. What is the solution? Is this indeed a BIOS issue?
