An incompatible device was attached to your dockport error message

Since I have added my HP G5 docking station to my computer, whenever I turn on my computer I get the bios screen with the error reading "an incompatible device was attached to your dockport." My docking station uses a thunderbolt cable which I have plugged into my usb-c display port cable, which is the issue. I want to get a usb-c to thunderbolt adapter, but so far this is the only one I have found and it is $50, which is far too much. If anyone has any other adapters for a cheaper price or knows if adding an adapter will solve my issue, let me know. I have gone into headless mode in my bios meaning that it will notify me of any bios warning or errors but so i will still get the "an incompatible device was attached to your dockport" message but I will not need to add an input. Still, this makes my bootup take longer so I was wondering if there was a way around this. I have tried turning off dock warnings in my bios settings but that doesn't work. What should I do or what other adapters to use?
