I believe that you may need to apply the latest 6.1 Java (Server/Store/Console) and Storage Agent for Symmetrix patches to fix this issue. These patches were only released in the past few days.
Patch 4415 - Storage Agent for Symmetrix - Build 6.1.0.0.129 (available on Powerlink) Patch 4432 - Java - Build 6.1.0.0.138 (not yet on Powerlink; have uploaded it to ftp.emc.com/outgoing/HF4432).
Seamus is correct. I had the same issue, although a local account on the ECC server running the Sym agent could perform these tasks. The patches resolved the issue for me.
