Synch with new server -- Windows

We have two locations, A and B. We replicate files from A to B using Replistor 6.2.1.3 on Server 2000 (A) and 2003 (B). The servers at both sites are SAN attached.

We have a new SAN at site A with a new Server 2008 box which requires 6.3. Data from the old SAN in site A was copied using SANCopy to the new SAN in Site A. The SAN in site B has a copy from Replistor as of a few days ago.

If I install Replistor on the new server in Site A, how do I migrate it/set it up so it doesn't copy all of the files from the new SAN in Site A to the Site B SAN.

Message was edited by: Basically, would an initial synch check to see if the files are there, and what's different, or would it just start copying everything from Site A to Site B? Any white papers or documentation would be appreciated.

As long as the Spec definitions are identical and you are replicating from the same location to the same location from A to B, then a full copy is not required. You can simply perform a Inc Sync of each Spec and this will only compare the files as opposed to replicating the entire content over.

Consider using Attribute Compare in the Sync options of these are mostly flat files.

The RepliStor Administrator's Guide and the Online Help within the product describe the Inc Sync process. I am sure this is all you will need.
